How much cooling water

    How much cooling water have a 235 engine?

    If you have access to a shop manual look under "capacities". This gives the amount anything that holds liquids takes be it radiator, oil pan, trans, etc. IIRC the AD's take about 16 quarts but I can't remember if this is with or without a heater.

    Coolant Level

    You need to add coolant until the radiator's tubes are covered by about 1" .

    Sorry I don't know Metrics well enough to convert that :rolleyes: .

    In any case , when properly filled the coolant level will appear to be very low but it isn't ~ the AD's cooling system is a high flow one and filling it up like a newer cooling system , will force it to spew out the excess coolant making you think some thin g is wrong when it's just self - leveling the coolant .

    I hope you're not using plain water ! .
