Alcohol or brake cleaner ONLY ! .

I've had many a customer come in after using various and sundry cleaning agents including gasoline , turpentine and penetrating oil and then they wondered why the brakes failed in short order...

Isopropyl alcohol is cheap so use plenty to get the job done. We have an old freon jug that has an air fitting and an outlet tube to hook a hose onto. Put a gallon or more in and hook an air hose from a regulator set at around 20psi. Pump this through and stop a couple of times to close bleeder screws and work brake pedal a couple times. This lets the alcohol reach the places the rubber cups are seated. Alcohol is not slippery so if you let some comming out of the bleeders run on your fingers and it's still has any slipperinesss (is that a word?) to it keep on flushing.
