A buddy of mine drilled and tapped his wheels, installed allen head screws such that the hubcaps snapped over the allen head screws. With the hub cap installed the allen head screws were "no-see-ums". ;)

It can be done, but its a meticulous deal.

Back in the early 80's I bought a set of Cragar S/S wheels for nearly nothing that had the chrome flaking off the spokes, but the steel rims still had nice chrome. I used a single button head screw to attach some Chevy dog dish hub caps to the center hub of the wheel. Sound cheesy but they looked like chromed reverse....

The only photo I have of my ole Nova is sadly way way way to far away to provide you with photographic evidence of my on the cheap wheel treatment.

The photo is my wife and I's first home, circa early 1980's in Ohio. Got one of those "Ronald Reagan" low interest first home buyer loans. We actually sat out in the sun in line at the bank for 3 days to make sure we would get the loan.

I built the 24' x 32' outbuilding building myself and that ole 1970 Nova had a stovebolt 230 6 and 3 speed manual trans. Dad bought the Nova brand new, it was the bare bones Forest Green model except for the black body molding.... seems like a hundred years ago

Should have put the Nova in a garage and stored it for your later years.
Photo # 2 looks like Keystone 5-spokes. I sure remember alot of those wheels.
The first chrome wheels I bought were used Superior "slotted" 6-bolt 15x6 or 7 off of my cousins totaled 66 Chevy 1/2 ton. He was drunk, I think and the Chevy paid the price.
If I'm doing the math right, Lakeroadster, you're a year younger than me. Your not a "old" guy at all!
I like the house in Ohio, looks small and simple. Just what people need today. Nice wooded setting in the fall.
