I spent the weekend installing the freshly painted cab onto my chassis. It's taken a few years for this to finally look like a truck again. I can't wait for next weekend. Hope everyone has a good week.
Man, my back hurts just looking at that!
Installing the cab between engine and truck bed had to be nerve racking to keep from scratching the paint on the bed or the engine!
Love them wide whites!!!
You really have a truck to be proud of there, Tony! Beautiful!!!
This is one beautiful project!
I agree with Lakeroadster, this one needs to be consolidated into a single build thread.
A build thread with LOTS of pictures.
This could end up a sticky.
I had my original paint scanned and have a new paint chip that looks even better to be scanned so I think I am OK. I was just curious if you had found a published paint formula. You can find paint codes on several of the paint web sites but that doesn't mean that you can get it mixed in modern pigments in my experience. Thanks, G.H.
Very nice truck. You're right about this being the 'fun' part! Every time you show progress it makes you work harder. It's kinda like a "Self-Propelled" project!
Hey Greg. I've been busy running wiring. I'm going to wait and run the engine--make sure it runs good before I put the front on. It's ready to go--just need to hear the engine run like it should. Here are a few more photos to show what I've done in the last 2 weeks.
Thanks for checking. I'm glad to share these photos. The trucks bring us together. It's the friends that keep us here.
Dadburn, Tony! That truck of yours looks like it will be rivaling Ken's50's truck!!! Absolutely beautiful work and attention to detail!
I'm sure we *all* look forward to seeing how that turns out, as much as you are!
Good luck with firing that puppy up!
