I tried to ask about chopping the top of a damaged cab no responce does anyone know a quick way to remove a cab? manual trans brake on floor
Roof I had a guy do mine as im not a body man , C&C enterprises 936-632-9313 his name is rodney blankenship
hey there fellow chevy guy...I posted a request but found your thread and thought since you had four trucks you might have a set of good upper rear shocks mounts. Ya gotta grind off the rivet and they pop off. So, do ya got a spare pair for a guy who threw his out thinking I was going 4-link? Thanks a bunch... email me scarab777@cableone.net Idaho Steve
Removing the complete cab?? it thats your question, I moved mine twice, jack truck safely on jackstands as high as you can 24" or so, disconnect the four bolts and all other items, gsa lines, remove seat steering everything, support the cab and doors only with 2x8 through the doors and windows, I used some schfoling (spelling) on wheels, once unbolted, jack the chassie down and roll in out from under the cab, you may have to take the wheels off to get by the bottom of the cab.
Hello, If you have a 2 post lift that is the best way. If not i use 4 or more friends and lift it off the frame after you take the 4 bolts out.Chopping the top off the cab is not hard just drill the spot welds and welds. The 55-59 cabs are 4 parts welded toghether. When you look inside the cab at the roof you can see all the spot welds. There are also welds on the door frames of the door openings on the cab.Grind those and the roof will come off but make sure you brace the cab before if you don't the cab will spring out of shape.
