identifing rearend modle numbers

    how do i identify 1/2 ton 1955-1962 rearend.beside the 6 lug hub. thanks

    If you remove the derby cover , the ratio will be stamped into both the edge of the Crown Whell and the nose of the pinion gear.....

    I'm not sure what info you're looking for here , some times there's a stamped , sheet metal tag .
