I have been trying to remove my ignition bezel from my dash. I want the entire assembly out so that I can do some metalwork to my dash. My problem lies in removing the bezel and cylinder. I have unscrewed the bezel, but it won't come off, it will pull a little more with a screwdriver, but other than that, it won't unscrew any further.

As for the ignition cylinder itself, does that have to be removed for the bezel to come off. I know about the paper clip in the hole trick, but how far into the hole does it go, and what possition is the key in when inserting the paperclip.

    Thank you in advance,

I feel your pain. It took me 2+ hours to figure this out on day...

Yes, you do need to remove the lock cylinder first. To do this
put in the key and turn it to ACC. Put in the paperclip into the
tiny hole. You should feal it depress a button. Then you can turn
the key further to the left and pull out. Pull hard.

After that is out you can use a very large flat blade screwdriver
to unscrew the ignition assembley from the bexel. Insert it where
the lock was. Make sure you disconnect the battery first or you
    might arc.

    Good luck!
