Hey everyone. I am working on the restoration of a 66 stepside, and need to replace the ignition switch, as something in the key cylinder must have broke, being as you can start the pickup with any key or screwdriver. I was trying to get the key portion out of the switch itself, and am having problems with that. I know Chevyduty sells the key and the switch seperatly, as I had planned on just buying the ignition switch cylinders with a key to fix this problem. I wondered if anyone had and suggestions on how to get these two peices apart? Any help would be appreciated!

There should be a small hole the size of a paper clip.on the right side of the cylinder. Insert the key in to the switch and a paper clip in the hole and turn it to your left i think. just wiggle it back and forthe if it won't work going to the left.

Yeah, just put the key in and take a paper clip and push it in the hole while turning the key to the left counterclockwize then it should pull out with a little wiggling.
