Hello everyone, I'm so glad I found this club. I'm starting to restore my late Grandpa's 1981 custom deluxe shotbed stepside pickup. It's all original with 305 auto, 2wd, power disc, no air, non power windows, non tinted glass, white bumpers and wheels. I'm going to upgrade a few things and could use some help with some questions. Here goes, #1. I want to put on a 1992 steering wheel, do I have to modify the horn wire off my stock wheel or will the stock horn wire clip onto the connector under the new wheels horn cap? #2. on the outer edge of upper door, both sides, I want to add weatherstripping to the upper door itself ( not the cab to door, it's fine as is ) and I see it shown in my factory 1981 chevy manual but my truck doesn't show any signs or mounting holes where weatherstrip was ever there before, do you guys know if it didn't come on base models but on silverados? I can glue on the new stuff and make two small holes on either side to hold clips in place. #3. Interior color is Palomino tan and door panels are real bad, anyone out there have any luck with aftermarket colors coming close on replacement door panels from Classic Parts or LMC TRUCK or anyothers?
