im not a body man but im tryin. ive been working on my hood for 2 days since im off this week. the outside of the hood was not problem. im down to bare smooth shiny metal. most of the inside of the hood is the same now, but for just a few areas that kinda have a acne look to them. nothing deep or through the metal, just blimishes. would bondo or body filler be the way to fix this? also before i spray my primer on my hood, is there anything else i need to do to the bare metal?
Fixing Hood Blemishes Body filler/Bondo will work, but for small pits, scratches, etc, I used a 2 part glazing compound on my truck. Mix only enough to use quickly, as it sets up really fast. Which means you have the area to be fixed clean and ready. This stuff is much easier to sand than body filler, and gets hard as nails. Sands out really smooth with just fine grit sandpaper. Then prime it and paint. The filler and the hardener should be available at any auto paint supply store and some auto parts places, too.
