Im in proses of installing a 2.8 L v6 from a chevy s10 into a stock frame of a 47 chevy pickup. Im not doing it exactly the way most would expect . I welded together engine mounts that I created myself with some flat steel i now am ready to position them and install them , (weld them in ). I'm not sure how far the engine should be from the fire wall has any one done this measurement. I'm wondering is there a perfect spot that I should choose to posision my engine mounts .I may some day put in a mustang 2 front end and would rather not have to move the engine to accomplish this . for now the suspension is stock in front . Im hoping someone knows a distance to a common reference point that I can simply measure from . it seems like something i could mess up since the transmission and cab are not installed right now
