interchangeable grills?

Just sold the52 and picked up a nice 57- I was wondering if a grill from a 55-56 will fit. The original grill is fine but I like the cleaner look of the 55.

Seems like I remember reading that the grill will fit in the opening, but that there is a mounting hole or bracket difference between the two years. A factory assy manual will probably tell you what the difference is.

Its funny, I like the 57 hood with the two tunnels yet I prefer the 55-56 grill. Thanks for the info.

The '55/'56 grill will fit in the opening on the '57 but there will be exposed holes in the sheet metal because the two grills bolt in differently. The '55/'56 grill bolts into the inside of the opening and the '57 grill bolts onto the outside. The problem can be overcome with a lot of work. I personally like the unique look of the '57 grill myself.
