    I came across some info on another site on an interesting four link rear installation. The kit was actually designed for a '32 F@&d but worked quite well on the AD. The Kit is available on ebay for $169 + shipping and can be setup to use airbags or coilovers. I just might have to try this! :D

    Are you planning on making a hod rod out of your truck? If so a 4 link is good, the ride is stiff and there is less sway. If you change the suspension in the front you will end up with almost zero sway depending on what you do. If you are just planning on making a daily driver or a hauler I don't recommend the 4 link. Here's some pix of my 4 link, I'm using a Jim Meyer front end with tube a arms ,Avo coilovers and a mustang rack in the front. This truck is very stiff, has no sway and since there is no rubber in the suspension just rod ends, all the power go's to the ground. This truck handles like a sports car. Lots of fun to drive.

    Fwiw ;

    The lack of rear sway is due to the Panhard Rod , nothing to do with the 4 link suspension .

    That looks really nice .

    That is a standard 4 link, sold through all the mini truck sites..try www.suicidedoors.com they are about the cheapest for parts and brackets, www.airbagit.com for the best prices on airbags, etc.

    Thanks for the compliment and you're absolutely right about the panhard bar, but the stiff ride comes from the American coilovers and the fact that there is no rubber in the suspension. I've experimented with lots of different ideas through the years and I remember when I used to run around with no bed on the truck and leaf springs on the back. I could look out the back window and see the leaf springs flexing every time I stepped on the gas. Traction bars helped but the four link really did the trick. The truck launches strait as long as it's sitting strait but if it's not look out cause if you don't back off the gas it's all over the road. :eek:

    Not too sure about that 4 bar set up, lot of contradicting pivot points there, i wouldn't be suprised if there was some binding or axle rotation with the way thats been installed. Im talking bout the set up in the first link, not yours Bigtimjamestown, yours is more conventional.

    I assume you used Polyurethane bushings ? I'm quite fond of them .

    No polyurethane either, all aircraft rod ends on the four link and on the upper and lower a arms. :)
