Don't waste your money sending them off to be polished up! Do it yourself! If you have a bench grinder, go and buy a buffing wheel to put on it. Then buy a set of jeweler's rouge. Eastwood sells both, but I'm sure you can find the stuff locally. The jeweler's rouge set has 4 bars, each looks like a one pound stick of butter. If memory serves, they come in white, green, red and grey. Each color has a different degree of abraviseness. Follow the instructions and you'll have them looking brand new in no time. Stainless is tough and very forgiving and can withstand a lot of buffing. Just don't keep the buffer on one spot too long as you can burn them. Good luck!

P.S. Our host sells 47-50 inner steel (not stainless) mouldings for $85 per side, so stainless "Hen's teeth" mouldings should go for more than that!

I am with Ken on that one.... and if the stainless trims have been painted over.... all you need to do is use paint stripper on them before polishing.

    Thumbs up to Joe

I bought a set of door and windshield moldings from Joe (DeadZoneTruckin) and everything looks good. Fast shipping and good communication.

Yes you can buy the stuff locally. I picked up stainless rouge at Sears for about 2 or 3 dollars right next to the buffing wheels. I however picked up a bench buffer at Harbor Freight for about 30 dollars.

    Polishing wheels

Please please please wear a suitable mask when polishing using soap and a wheel, the crap that gets up your nose and in your lungs is nasty stuff!!!
