I know I'm new at this restoration thing, but nothing seems to go easy when fabricating until I get to the point of cursing. I mean I tried to take my time and be patient with what I'm doing. It just seems until those ?&@#%+ words come out of my mount the project doesn't want to corporate with me. But as soon as those ugly words start flying it's like it needed to heard them or something and then bam, things start working together. Just wondering if it's just me because all this is new to me or if you experience the same thing.. Lol Sorry for venting, but I do feel better. Thanks
I find that some projects require hybrid swearing. We have been known to come up with some pretty creative blends of several words that just seem to fit the situation. Don't know if it helps, but I feel better.
Taking a brake helps! Sleep on it a day or two that might help Confusius said , its the path towards its final result that teaches us and wich counts . The time factor is relatively as time comes and does not goes. B.t.w. if cursing words are mentioned in the englisch american dictionary it is fully legelized to curse . Your time will come aswell
It's not mandatory... my mother said she never saw her father get mad, not even once and never heard him curse. So, sadly, I guess didn't get his gene's...
I could have never installed the locking bead in the window weatherstripping without my toolbox of construction words. That is also a good reason to work inside a garage with the doors closed. (If you teach and have neighborhood children walking by...)
Kids and swearing This is off topic i know but what the heck. My experience is that most kids in general swear and curse more then many growen up people do , they want to try out where the border line goes and start early , being conform. Its a good thing not to curse when there kids around us. I learned to swear when i saw the written F*** word fore the first time discrete on the inside of the toilet doors at school , i mean the time before graphiti whas invented fore many years ago nowerdays this vocabulary is written everywhere around us on public walls and i dont like that really!! Martinius.
Sadly, Martinius, that is very true. Especially in my area. (Low income) I love teaching, however, so I really need to watch my word choice so something unexpected doesn't pop out in a classroom setting.
What works for me? Prayer. I never heard a swear word not even once from my Grandfather. He worked as a sawyer in sawmills all his life, was around all sorts of blue-collar working men, and yet NEVER swore. He could however, tell his grandson when he was displeased with him. I miss him, and can't wait to see him again, which I will. Blueflame & Zig, the problem with todays kids is rotten parents, no Christian up-bringing, and no PADDLE in the classroom.
I'd love to see the swats be a part of school activities again. Those bastards hurt, know what I mean.
To earn respect To earn respect you have to show respect right! I did a litle test once on the subject in a clasroom when teaching smaller groups as a psycolegist at a school fore children with dissabilletees . Most of the children had a commen problem wich whas stamming and i`d noticed the "need of cursing" amongst them when they stottered words wich i found very unpropriate. I`d teached them to use "other words" instead when they become frustrated , this to break through so they could fullfill there sentences wich helped. I mean to give those kids a real alternative instead of the warning finger. The responce whas good and the class envirement became much better ! Using a good dose of humor as an adult is a good thing to. This police officer knows his dancing http://www.abcnyheter.no/livet/2014/02/27/se-den-dansende-politimannen Cursing and swearing is indead strongly related to getto envirement and behavior, less commen sosial knowledge/scills and personall intelligence. But to say ouch instead of cursing when hitting your knokle with a wrenge is difficult to prevent sometimes , i know have a look at my avatar Charles Martinius.
Tattoo hey Skeeter Had to laugh a bit , what does your tattoo symbolizes ? Band the bombe , give me a hunch ? Martinius.
Martinius, ?High Hopes, my eyes cannot believe what they see, no.? (Paolo Nutini) Different circles use words, opinions, differently, and those circles run in different lines which parallel one another. The use of a work say, rooted, is just a word which means different things to different people in different places. Using the word/s windgen or wind generator outside electrical, green earth, or mother earth circles means nothing to many. I?m not sure where you are headed with that last post and because of the Tower of Babel problem I?m not sure what it is you were after or the point to you were trying to make. Maybe the use of babelfish would help some? However you used respect, my name, a link to a flatfoot doing something children from the ghettos here started, and stated for me to look at your moniker, a toon? When I was sent Dennis Hopper?s photo from Easy Rider, I ROFLMFAO. I understood the message, sometime later ROFLMAO returned in kind. Cussing, the subject of this thread, it is used in all circles no matter what a few bubbles within the circle, who think their bovine exhaust does not stink imagine. Trying to censor people from cussing is a form of censorship and is a restriction freedom of speech, need I say anymore on the subject of Freedom of Speech. I know when many, many children come into this world in many languages the words before they arrive are cuss words and in that circle it is okay anytime of the day. Frankly I do not think any man would have any disrespect for the Mothers if they were cussing before, wouldn?t you agree. Respect, funny word means many things to many people, but many have a high regard for it and use it as such. I feel it is used wrongly many times today as is the word hero. Toon, I?m completely lost on your reference there. Thought it was funny when I seen it first and that was it. What the fornicating hades where you talking about? You state that, instead of giving the finger, did you mean the middle finger, or? An ideal mind with too much time, nothing to do, no place to go, and no directional signs within their circle, is a terrible time to lose. I have ?High Hopes? for the youth today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLF9httl3-I
Charles You got a point in your vision and i am glad you believe what you believe I do not disagree in your way of thinking at this subject! Just gave an sample of some of my Professional experiences at my earlyer work. I to have great believe in the youth of today. My sons youth school friends are still hanging around the farm every day and i love to have them here. I am a positiv thinker and have the thrue believes in human kind as long as people behave respectfull and are good to each other. Thats my point. Being flexeable to others meaning and respect there freedom of Speech is another point. I believe in these things aswell and feel it makes our world around me a bit better. I try to be a realistic person with both feets on the ground wich is`nt allways that easy. I to curse and swear when i get frustrated or having pain some where i have to admit that not often but in lack of any other words it feels giving some relief ? I cant answer why it does that ? Gets the pressure of the boiler ? The police man video whas ment as a yoke on your swap team reply earlyer Police officers can be funny aswell My avatar shows a frustrated chevy truck driver that kicks his bumper and curces when his truck stops again on the road, police is chasing him fore the money he robbed at the bank ; Take The Money And Run . As it is off topic these are my last words on the subject but , thank you for sharing your personal thoughts. Martinius.
Martinius & Charles, ya'll are getting way too deep for me.. all I can say, topic related, is ... WTF? Bingo! The only thing that kept me in line when I was a kid was the threat of corporal punishment... period. For a while Mom spanking me with her hand no longer worked... then she started using a wooden spoon and I became more "civilized" with one session.
Like Button! LOL, my mother switched from the hand to Dad's (stepdad) electric razor cord. After the one or two times of her attitude adjustments I just stayed out of her reach. But then she would throw the Tide box at me when I was not expecting it. Just me talking sometimes would set her off, I learned later that my Father and my voice were almost exactly the same. (Divorce I guess does that to some of em.) Thanks for making me laugh today from remembering Moms ways.
Martinius, Being up at 3AM in the morning and my back hurting, translation sometimes misses a little so I did not catch the part about the children stuttering, having them sing their words through helps.
lakeroadster I am truely sorry to hear the treatment that your mom gave you. Kids never deserve that kind of punishment. Corporal punnishment whas likely more legelised in these days , i`d think so ? I have a simmilair life history and swear by god i`d promised not to lay a hand on my own kid ever. I kept that promise ! With deep respect fore telling your story in public , Martinius.
