Here are some photos of my baby brothers project. It's a '68 half ton with a 400 horse sbc., it has airbags, powdercoated frame, 20" wheels, relocated tank and alot more planned. Our father was what many would call a "shade tree mechanic", but there wasn't anything he couldn't fix on a vehicle. He basically taught himself. Growing up, we really didn't appreciate what he could do because he spent so much time under someones hood, but we both kick ourselves now for not learning more from him. He had a 65 Impala SS back in the day that could really scream. I later owned a 65 & 66 Impala and to date I still love that old body style, but my latest love is the 49-53 AD. Yeah, street rods are in our blood!!
tits! Your father has GOT to be proud of what he left behind. My dad~ as bad off as he was in all other aspects~ left it in me, and all I can hope for, (and feel very positive about right now) is that I can hear my daughter talking about ADs with the love that I do. Pass it on.
Cool Truck ! You've gotta go share that with the late model guys ! . There's not a whole lot of those left , much less being hot rodded . Oddly enough , an original light blue one with a service bed , passed by me to-day as I was out chasing parts , it was in good shape apart from the mangled front bumnper , still a shop truck , it was piloted by a middle aged woman , obviously one who knows good machinery...
My daughter is seven. We passed some used trucks that were for sale. I commented at the lifted Grand Cherokee but my daughter said she preferred the mid 60's Chevy truck next to the Jeep. That's my girl. mobileortho, That truck is going to be awesome.
