I recieved this '65 GMC from my grandfather and found out that it was originally my great grandfather's. Well it sat for 12 years and I have started restoring it. I just got it running and driveable before my grandfather died in July. And to him this truck meant everything. Well, he was the one who taught me everything about cars and now he is gone, so I need some help. My first questions is that I just purchased a rear fleetside bumper and bumper bolts, but I wanted to know what the bumper brackets are for and should I get them. The bumper on the truck was originally custom because it had a camper on it! I also need to know where I can find parklamp lenses and how do I get them on, because I had to break off the old ones before I took it in for paint. I also need to know where I can find the standard 1/2 bolts that are used for the front end, because I lost some of them! And I am going to purchase rims and tires and I don't want to get 15x7's. What size rims and tires should I get if I want it to ride a little lower without a drop kit?! Any info will greatly help me. Thank you!! Skyler
For your bumper you will need the bumper brackets to install the rear fleetside bumper. If you try to make your own it is a pain because it bends in weird directions. As for your other questions I can't be of much help.
