I'm redoing the brake system on my 1972 K20. All has gone well until I went to remove the rear drums from the 8 lug HD rear. Does anyone know the secret to getting the drums off??...Thanks, Bud

Hi, on the backside,at the bottom there should be either a rubber oval plug or a knockout for one. pull out or knockout the plug. With two flat tip screwdrivers, push the adjuster arm away from the star wheel, then back off the star wheel, this should retract the shoes so that the drum can come off.

i did run across a situation where there was a large "rivet" on the outside face of the drum that had to be knocked off. it held the drum to the axle. just a thought.
