I'm sure you all might have heard this before, but I started the king pins on the 52 today. Everything went great until the beating. I hit it about 3 times and said that's enough.Went to the parts store and got the ball joint press. Pushed it right out. Had to use some nuts and a bolt to fit in the bushing. Tool was to big. Worked great. Also took the backing plates off. Should be putting the tappered bearing kit I figured out in next weekend.

    Good Idea !

This is the right attitude ~ take the beam off and put it in a press or use the smaller Ball Joint press as the king pins begin to mushroom with much pounding .

I'm not sure why but I've always had them come out easier if you press them _UP_ .
