    Have any of you tried to change the knob on the end of an original dashboard cable? I have a couple long original 'C' cables and a 'T' cable that was cut short, so I would like to make a long throttle cable to re-install on my project. Larry

    Yeah ;

    You've gotta clamp the fat part in a vise then twist the knob as you pull it off , this will ruin the knob so you'll have to use Epoxy to install it on the new center part .

    It used to be that good War Surplus cables (American made no less) were only .50 CENTS at any swap meet so re-threading a dead cable was cheap ans easy as long as the original knob was good .
