I recently bought some leaf springs off a junked '75 3/4 ton chevy for my '85 C10. They look to be in pretty good shape but I still need to replace the old rubber bushings with some new poly bushings.

I'm wondering what's the best way to remove the old bushings?

Your best bet would be to heat the rubber and metal sleeve inside the spring. Use a punch or something about the same diameter as the rubber bushing, then get to bangin'. They can be tough to remove. Clean out the interior real good then the new bushings will fit nicely.

    Good luck,
    Brian
