The other day it rained on the truck. I seem to have a leak in the windsheild of my truck and I am not entirely sure where it is coming from. All I know is I found some water runing in in-between the metal widow surrounds on the dash. My guess it is either from the center strip or from the top and getting under the rubber there. What do you guys think? Have any of you seen this?

Also, when I had an installed put in the window he did not use any glazing compound. Should he have?

Leaks are very common on these trucks, especially if some kind of sealant is not used when installing a new gasket or glass. Look for anywhere on the outside where the gasket does not fit flush to either the glass or the panel. Also look at the places where the rubber does tight turns, i.e. lower outside bends as they are notorious for leaks.

Take a garden hose and do a lengthy, but simple test. Using the hose, pour water on the windshield gasket, one section at a time and see if you have a leak. Do not turn the pressure up full blast, or they will all leak. You'd be surprised how easily you'll find the problem.

    Happy hunting.
