Hi gents. I just bought stainless steel tailgate chains for my 58 Fleet, but the hooks come unattached. Anyone tried to bend those darn things to permanently connect them to the chains? Crazy stiff. Thanks!

Okay well not hearing anything further about this I contacted Classic Parts, and to their credit they're sending out a new kit which they crimped just for me, along with a return shipping label for the first kit. Now that's service.

Well the new set of chains came in but were pretty scarred from the use of what were probably large pliers, so I took my original chains to a sheet metal vendor who simply put the hooks in a copper-jawed vice, and they came out perfect! No scarring at all.
