Loctite Headbolt and Waterjacket Sealant

Part # 1158514, Has anyone used or Is anyone familiar with this product? I have one bolt on the water pump that is into the waterjacket and need to seal it. Any other suggestions? Thanks again, Jerry
 
Hey Jerry

Not shore if i understand you right but is one of these bolts missing or broken of ? If there is a leak have a look at the original bolt thread and repair that instead if posseble ! If a bolt piece is stucked in there you could drill the remaining piece out with a undersized bore and refresh the thread. Instal a new bolt here and torque it down again using Loctite. If the thread is badly damaged you could use a Helicoil as it sits tight , use the loctite permanent glue then. The sealant mentioned is a sticky glue paste and works great fore a while but as always up-heated/cold areas are allways difficult to handle , so none guarantees fore long lasting results here.

Thanks Blueflame for your concern. This is NOT a 911 emergency. Don't sent the sheriff, ambulance , Fire dept nor the Dept of Homeland Security, No twisted off bolt, no stripped hole. It is just that when I drilled for a water pump adapter plate , even though I measured for 1/2 inch, the drill bit entered the water jacket. I am looking for the proper way to permanently seal this water pump bolt. Thanks anyway, Jerry

NOTHING is leaking! Zero None, Zilch. OK, NOT an emergency! I Can not send a picture of something that is not happening. If you want pictures of what I did, gp to Stovebolt.com and look in archives for WaterPump adaptor plate.
 
A little Jb weld might do it, but you may want to coat the threads with an oil so the bolt won't stick to the JB at the end. I've fixed lots of things with JB. Otherwise, a little teflon tape at the end of the threads may seal the threads from the water.
