I am looking for a 235 cu in engine to put in my 53 - five window. If someone has a good source for remanufactured 235's, or if someone has a rebuildable 235, please let me know. Thanks

Might try Freman's in Whitehall. They have lots of vintage Ford stuff, but who knows. I see their website is no longer up and running, but you can call (406) 287-5436.

Also GrandpaGleno (memeber here) might have some connections. IIRC, he is from Missoula.

Shouldn't be hard to find one there close with some patience.

    CHEAP 235's

Are everywhere ~ no one wants them , you just need to beat the bushes until one falls out .

My advice : go to the Task Force forums here and read about Hod Rod builds
, most will have a good running takeout 235 that won't cost over $150.00 fan to clutch , often less or free .

Look back two or three years as once it's been sitting under a tarp in the back of the garage a while , they'll be much more flexible on the price .

DO NOT pay over $150.00 unless it's rebuilt with a receipt ! .

    I'm assuming you're looking for a 1955 ~ 1962 full pressure oiling 235 , a 1953 235 is pretty much worthless no matter how well it runs .

I've got an extra 235 in storage . It has 5000 mi. on the block forged pistons, balanced, performance Crower cam, shot peaned rods with Arp rod bolts. It spun a rod Berg. and needs to have the crank redone and 1 rod re sized. No head.
