i was thinking of lowering my 52 one ton. the back could be dropped by putting the diff on top of the springs instead of below. what about the front? could springs be heated and the eye reversed?

Heating springs is never a very good idea. Hd a friend roll his minitruck when his heated spring let go. Have a spring shop re-arch them or make a lowered set.

If you are not going to haul big loads, you can take out a leaf at a time and see how she sits.
Once there where you like it you can install bags bags so you can haul if need be. Or as Russ said re-arc them.

Go check out youtube videos and start getting ideas... They put big trucks down just like the little trucks.
