I am in the process of lowering my 84 C10 SWB... I already have Bell-tec spindles on the front and hangers on the rear and am about to add shackles. What bed/crossmember notching is involved in adding the shackles (anybody got pictures)?

Also what shocks should be used? My Monroe Reflex shocks have a current static length of 18" (already reduced 2" with the hangers) and a minimum compressed length of 14". If the shackles lower it an additional 2" for a 16" static length, should I purchase shorter shocks? The way I see it, I would have only 2" of shock travel before they over-compress and destroy the internal valving...

I'm hoping the 2.5"/4" drop will look right, but am just as concerned about the performance and quality of the installation on this street/strip project.

    Thanks...
