Hello everyone, I am new to the board and looking for some advice.

I have a 1965 GMC 3/4 ton truck. I would like to lower my truck some. The suspension I have is as follows:
    Front: Independent coil suspension
Rear: Leaf springs (upgraded, two different sets)

The rear is already adjusted as low as it will go (there is some sort of pivot arm at one end of the leaf). One mod I have seen is to make the leaf springs go under the axle as opposed to above the axle. This looks like it would drop the rear about 5 inches which would be perfect. I know this takes away from some of the payload capacity, but I am not too worried about that as this is definitely not a work truck (though I do help out with moving furniture, etc).

Are there any other drawbacks to lowering the rear in this way? Is there a better way that is not very expensive?

How about lowering the front. What is a good way to lower the front without taking away ride quality? My goal is to make this truck a bit lower than it is and make it a nice cruiser that will have good ride quality over the bumps and otherwise lousy roads in my area.

    Thanks!

Oh ya, attached is a pic of my truck as it sits now.
