Hi Room. Been a few since I have posted anything, but have been reading. I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the motivation to finish my truck. I did finish the interior and wanted to show it off..Feel free to visit the site to see it all. http://www.clgw.net/~tonyp/page13 of truck.htm
I don't know... I like the bow ties, but I think big, beefy GMCs sewn in would look even better! Now all you have to do is DRIVE it! Darn!
Way cool, dude. Have fun with it. Make sure you fill us in on all the trophies you win with that ride. Andy
Appreciate the kind words. Wife and I do take Rusty out twice a week just to go 25 mph thru town. I did drive about 2 1/2 hours to guy that did interior. Ran 70 mph straight and true. We had the air conditioner but still rolled the windows down to feel the air. What a blast. Kevin I hate to say that I think the seats came from a Monte Carlo..Reason I hate to say is that I forgot. Boy is old age kicking in.
Looking good. Since it's silver and blue, and if you ever wanted to sell it, you could replace the bow ties with a Dallas Cowboys logo and one of those wild eyed football nuts would give a fortune for it.
Wired at the top Had a few people ask me what the wire is hanging from top of headliner. I had a pioneer system installed with 6x9's behind the seat and had tweeters to install but had to finish top first. I do have a question. How do you politely tell someone that the truck isn't for sale, even when they say everything has a price?. Had alot of offers for the truck and even a few that could pay. How do you put a price on a dream?.
How Much !!!! Tell them it will cost them a $1,000,000 The reply will probaly be "its not worth that" "it is to me" is the replly to that if they say OK smile sweetly take the money and have a vacation looking for another truck
My dad used to tell people who asked him what he'd take for his '34 PU "There are 3 things in life that I won't ever part with: my wife, my kids and my truck. Just don't ask me the order of importance!" You gotta admit it though, it makes you feel good inside when somebody wants to buy your dream to make it theirs!
?? How Much ?? I highly disagree ~ not everything is for sale . I just tell 'em " no " and when they make a fool out of themselves I just repeat or walk away . Some get mad , screw 'em . It's bugger all hot here to-day , well into the upper 90's , maybe 100° , I had too much work to do to stop and find a thermometer Working outdoors on one of my old Motos (W-650) most of the day .
Hey, Nate! I've got a number in mind. Seriously, what would you take for that mechanically sound, beautimous '49 of yourn?
I have told a few that if they ask how much then they couldn't afford it. That usually shuts them up.
I have noticed that the person that looked at a car/truck when it came in the door with rusted out floors, bashed in sheetmetal, and broken or missing parts and glass, wiring gone, etc., will make the comment "what a piece of crap" is the same person that says "how much will he take" when it's done. I tell them if they will donate blood, skin, burns, sweat, headaches, and much time then the negotiation will continue on money. A reality check usually sets in that money doesn't cover everything.
