is there supposed to be some sort of insulator (washer) beneath the horn contact assembly. my horn would sometimes stick, so i took the button off and removed the assy. to clean up and check things. there were some remains of some sort of washer beneath it . shop manual and assy. manual do not indicate this. any help out there? kinda of nuisance when you hit the horn and it keeps blowin , SWMBO would duck down and hide when this would happen, me , i would just wave at everybody like i knew them :D

    Horn contact

There is no washer under the horn contact assy. There are three rivets that hold the assem together and they are insulated by a paper type insulator. Use an ohm meter to check to see if the rivets are making contact with the metal plates. If you get a reading on the meter, replace the contact assem.( you will have to wiggle the contact to make sure it's not shorting out).:)
