Manual master cylinder question

I recently ordered a disc brake conversion kit from Chevy Duty and have a question concerning master cylinders. I drag-race this truck and street-drive it some, and therefore am interested in using a manual master cylinder with this swap. I haven't talked with anyone who has done this. Everyone I've talked to all put power brakes on their trucks. The tech guy at Chevy Duty that I spoke with didn't know of any manual cylinders that would work with a minimum of trouble or know of anyone who makes some kind of adapter plate with which to bolt a newer-style cylinder to the firewall. If anyone has made this swap and used a manual cylinder to do it, I'd appreciate any input or ideas. Thanks, Chris

I came across a 67-72 that had non-power disc brakes and it looked factory. It sticks in my mind because I had never seen disc brakes without a power booster. It might not have been factory but you might check with the local parts store and see if a master cylinder is available for that configuration for those years. Hope this helps.

I got my master cylinder with the disc brake conversion kit I got from Early Classic. (Sorry Chevy Duty) The power booster was an option and just bolted on the rear of the master cylinder. The only difference is the length of the rod that runs to the pedal. The master cylinder would have bolted to the firewall the same way as the booster. I did need to drill two holes, but it all bolted in in minutes.

I am planning a similar conversion and have been reading alot of posts on the Hot Rodders Bulletin Board, Inliners Bulletin Board. I found one fellow who used a 1968 PU master cylinder and a variable proportioning valve to do the job. I will be putting the same year master cylinder in soon and will let you know how it goes.
