    Hello,

I have a 1957 3100 short wheelbase pickup truck and I'm looking for the best solution to get ifs and a new rear end. I thought about buying a mustang II kit but now I'm more interested in a entire donor frame. I would like to put my truck body on a modern frame. I'm hoping to run a 350 and a automatic tranny.

If I were to purchase a SWB 1973-1987 donor truck, will I need make a lot of modifications to use the new frame. Is the wheelbase and frame width about the same as my original frame? Is there a better donor vehicle like a blazer, S-10, chevy car, etc.? Thanks.

    Hi James,
I mounted my '56 Burb on a '00 GMC Sierra frame and running gear. The truck was lightly rolled. I moved the rear end 2" forward, made some body mounts and installed the Burb body. Now I have all the lastest comfort..cruise control, Vortec engine, auto trans, air, abs w/4 disc brakes and so on.

BTW I answered the last email you sent me many months back but was returned citing it was a wrong returned email address???

Great picture, Seon. Were you able to use everything from the truck? Dp you have any interior pictures? How did the '00 frame dimensions compare to the '56 dimensions?
