OK, I'd like input from whoever is interested. In the S10 frame swap thread, we discussed rear ends and a few other things. Can you all give some advice on a good all around donor vehicle that I can buy that'll have a good balance of rear end, steering, brakes and the like so that I can update my truck to match the 350 that I plan on putting in it? I live in the country and dont have a whole lot of resources, so if I could target one vehicle with the stuff that'll work on my truck, that would be outstanding.

thanks in advance and I hope this is possible...

The regular cab longbed is supposed to be the closest match to a shortbed 3100. If your frame is in good shape, I would suggest using it. There is a lot more to the s10 swap than just mounting the body. If time is $$$, what is your time worth? You can easily set up a m2 frontend in a weekend, you can get a rearend from most pull a parts for around $100. Use your leaf springs and replace the bushings. Some rear ends I have used are camaro, Impala SS (disc brakes), 90s Town Car(Disc brakes), 4x4 S10, Colorado (6 lug).
