    Quick question for ya, wheel nuts, same as most other Chevys? Camero etc or are they specific to these trucks?

    As you have prolly guessed I've lost most of mine during tear down and as the truck frenzy has died down over here there ain't any vendors selling bits for them anymore, still got the usual American car parts shops but they tend not to have truck bits. Bit heavy to ship a set from the states so was jus wonderin

    Neil, look in the ziploc bag labeled wheel or lug nuts. That's where they are!

    Oh yeah, I forgot. You don't believe in the "bag and label" method!;)

    IIRC, 1/2 ton trucks and passenger cars used the same nuts from the '40's thru the mid '70's. 7/16 - 20 is the size.

    Ken's memory is better than mine, so I looked it up in the Master Parts Book. Ken is correct for 1/2 ton.

    Lug Nuts

    Yep ;

    Same a many other GM products too ~ .

    My new '69 C/10 had American Racing Wagon Wheels with chrome lugs nuts , I headed off to my favorite place (the scrap yard) and found some old trucks , two 1970's Novas and a '68 Chevelle , grabbed as many lug nuts as I could find scattered all over the ground & took 'em home , washed & de rusted the ones without mashed edges from wrong size tire wrenches over the years and assembled a nice set . Dorman products sells these new for about 70 Cents each....

    I'd imagine some GM Dealer there could order you up some cheaply....

    Welcome home , I didn't realize you'd taken you truck all apart .

    IIRC , the correct truck 7/16" lug nuts are the ones that have a checkerboard stamping on the flat outer edge of each nut ..... I have 1/2 a set of those on my truck now and the search continues .

    Thanks for the info, will check with local Yankee parts shop to see if they have a few.

    As for the ziplock idea! Where's your sense of adventure? Lol
