It seems my current SBC has developed a problem, Around 30-40 miles into a drive my oil pressure drops and I get a knocking coming from the left side of the engine. I don't know the history of this engine and so the great quest for a new had began. Surfing through the local pages of certain list I had found a young man needing to get rid of a SBC350, went to look at it and found it had fuel injection with wiring and computers:eek: it was a rebuilt LS1 Police engine complete top to bottom. Along with the engine came a 700r4 tranmission. Today I pick it up all for the grand price of 750.00USD, oh by the way engine was tested and pulled 340 horsepower on the dyno. I can feel the tire bill allready:mad:maybe that will help me feel better about the gas bill. anyways have a good one boys I am going to play:D

    Don't Forget :

That old junk 350 can be taken apart and sold off piece by piece , many people are looking for good used heads , cranks , blocks and whatever else turns out to be O.K. when you break it down .

Congrats on your purchase. What a steal! These LS1s actually can get decent gas mileage depending on the tune. I am getting 18.5 mpg. I know that's not going to win me any earth friendly awards, considering the horsepower and the aerodynamics of the truck, it's better than I was expecting. As for the tires, you are on your own there.

Good luck with the build and send some pictures.
