:) howziit guys! i bought a pair of armrests from CHEVYDUTY; has anyone had any problems mounting them?

reading the instructions, they advise me to drill two half-inch holes per side, with a template provided.

although i have not removed the upholstered door panel yet, i'm wondering why the instructions say to drill such large holes...when the machined screws which came with the arm-rests are much smaller than half-inch.

ANNNDDD, there are no nuts provided with the machined screws.

am i missing something here? if i drill the half-inch holes, according to the templates, will i be uncovering threaded holes in the panels, which the screws will accept?

thanks for help.

I have done this on my truck,(20 years ago),and if I remember correctly the door panels have a larger hole so that you can angle the screws correctly to reach some pre-threaded mounts that exist internally on the door housing itself

:) howziit Lee!

thanks for responding.

now i know, that there are pre-threaded mounts in there. without an explanation why i'd need a 1/2" hole, i didn't wanna find out the hard way.

thanks again.

The mounting screws need "cage Nuts" to be inserted into the panel to hold the arm rest in place. I do believe our hosts here have them.
