Saw this post and thought it would be fun seeing some posts. I have had a 49 jimmy, a 51 chevy 3/4 ton, and my present truck a 49 chev 3/4 pu, with a 4x4. The Napco Dana 44, and Napco Transfer case. Im only guessing , but it may have been a Washinton State DNR truck. A logger owned it up in Alaska, and I got it from a person locally about 10yrs ago. I really dont know too much for sure about its past. Someone put a 235 in it, in my opinion a much better engine than the old "stove bolt" 216. This 235 has a higher pres. oil system. I usually fire it up a couple of times annually, and it runs very well taking into consideration the old single barrel carb needs to be re-built.
Does anybody re-build those carbs anymore? I know I could get a Cliffords performance intake and exaust manifold and run a small 4 barrel or 2 barrel in it. But then, that distracts from some of the old landscape under the hood.

NAPA has the carb kit, it is simple to rebuild yourself, like most everything else on these trucks.

    Welcome!

Hey~ you STARTED with a G so you can't be too bad off~
IIRC, "Blue" has a 4X4ish looking ride. Looks good. Of course, the way these old rucks were made, you didn't need that, but I wouldn't complain if I had it~

I agree with G when I say, "Pictures Please?"

Whatever questions you have, you'll find the answers here.

    (Not from me, but...)
