    Walnut blasting

Walnuts are less likely to stretch the metal.:)

It cost me $ 650.00 to blast everything.

There is a big cleanup involved, it takes alot of blowing and vacuuming:)

    Simply Red~

That turned out beautiful, Gene! Nice to see it's tucked away out of the weather. I bet you have a ball driving that around town, huh?

You've been working on that for quiet some time~ How long did all this take?

You are now in the category with all those other lucky ducks. The category of, "Now go and drive the darn thing"!:D

    Its been a life time

I bought it 1984 and started restoration. Then came some major interuptions, (like a job and move from Calif.). So I put it in storrage for 20 years.
I started over 2 years ago. PATIENCE HUH?
We picked up parts all over the country while traveling with our RV. My wife got tired of seeing junk yards.
I put it in show quality condition, but have no desire to show it. Just drive it.
It does turn a lot of heads.:D

    Wow!

Your truck is gorgeous. Looks like you did a great job on every little detail. Good thing for those other guys in your area that you aren't entering any shows. You would be tough to beat.

I am glad someone else asked about the walnut blasting. I have never heard of using that before. It sounds like other benifits are health and environment related. Although, not sure how sand could be considered bad for the environment. :)

According to this website, corn cobs also also used for blasting (log homes).

    Sandblasting caution!

Mike, traditional sandblasting is done with silica sand. The silica dust produced by sandblasting is very harmful to the lung and can cause severe damage including shortness of breath, lesions in the upper lobes of the lung, just to name a few things. I never use the stuff unless I have a very good respirator on.
