    Hello,
I wrote in another thread that I have problems with the clearance of the gas pedal. It was for my opinion to small (3cm). I made a second hole in the bell crank so that the travel from rod to the carb got larger and the clearance got larger to up to 5 cm.
Now I have the problem that the rod of the accelerator hits the firewall above and beneath the hole.
I think I will made the hole larger and change the accelerator rod with a smaller diameter (6mm).
May be the problem is to the fact that the engine is from a passenger car. Anyone out there who have a idea where I can look about a manual what the original rod looks like?

Wolfgang, the accelerator rod from the pedal to the bell crank is Chevrolet part no. 3701623 for '53-54 trucks with 235 engines. According to the Master Catalog, the description is as follows: round knob on one end 17 3/16" overall length.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Ken,
thats the rod I have and it doesn't work well. I'm looking for a rod for a passenger car.
