She (actually, the grandkids named it "Mater", we know why, I have trouble working on a he...maybe Matter-ett) wont make it there this year...maybe 10? Frame is getting media blasted...hopefully...powder coated to. Cab will delivered to the blaster when I pick up the frame. Yes, It's got its got a long way to go. Progress is being made and patch panels are here for it. Resericted rust bucket for sure! 58 12v 235 (thanks to millerd) replacing the 48 6v 216. Hey guys, this is going to be a driver...not show. Low budget for sure. Blasting and powder coating being done for ad! Rick
Mater? I love it! Best of luck! Don't disappoint the grandkids! I think Mater is a cool name. I've sat down with my grandson too many times to remember and watched Carz!
CARS is one of my favorite movies. I think it helped me win a trophy with my Mazda at a national import car show. I had it playing in my car's DVD player on all 3 flat screens. The Judge said he loved that movie. At the end of the night I went home with a huge trophy. I understand the low buck build. That is what I'm doing on my truck. The interior of my truck wasn't much different than what your looks like. I just got lucky to find a rust free truck. My daughter refers to all tow trucks as Mater.
mater...without the ta Thanks guys, Lots of work to do before I get anywhere near your stories. I'm having fun with it as well as the grandkids, and kids, helping from time to time. Most likely it will belong to one of them at some point. Budget remains the factor...we're also working on a 71 Chevelle. One daughters wants it, son loves to spin the tires. Neighbors don't like it much. mater will get done...road worthy anyway, what needs doing after that will just take time. Rick
Mater Mater is looking at me from underneath the monitor.... Y'all may recall my old shop's tow truck was a '55 Task Force so Mater will always have a special place in my heart . Don't sweat it Rick , just take baby steps and one day you'll be driving before you know it
