need cargo lamp

I have a 77 gmc 3/4 ton camper special has all options but the factory cargo lamp for the bed . Can't find in a junk yard are there any aftermarket ones ? Has anyone ever retro fitted one ? It dosen't look like it would be hard . thanks chevypug GO DALE !!!

Everything needed to install a cargo lamp is available new from Chevy Duty, but it won't be cheap. About $125 for all the necessary parts. Might be wise to keep checking the wrecking yards for awile longer. I believe the cargo light was the same from 73-87, so one from any of those years will fit.

Just make sure and wire it so that it will only work when the inside dome light is on. Otherwise it is very easy to inadvertently leave it on and drain your battery.
