It's been a while since I posted on here, but my '53 Chevy 3100 restoration is nearing completion. I drove the truck for the first time today. Great feeling but now a new punchlist. One item that I need to address right away is my heater control value. It seemed to gush water from under my dash. Can anyone recommend a reliable rebuilder for my heater control value, or perhaps give me a suggestion where to find a replacement? Thanks! Tony
You can get the seal & rebuild it yourself..... http://www.pbase.com/dennygraham/ranco_hf_br Or you can send it out to be rebuilt..... http://www.heatercontrolvalve.com/ http://www.heatercontrolvalve.com/50_chevy_pu.html
Ranco Valve Rubber Last thing i knew , NAPA still sold the Belkamp repair kit , $ 660-100 IIRC . Under $10 . It's dead simple only having one part needing replacement . If the metal tabs holding it assembled break off , just have it silver soldered .
