I've lowered the back 4in with springs and read alot on here about needing or not needing an adjustable panhard bar. Well i need one cause it's not straight anymore. my problem is everywhere i look it says their bar is for 5in or more. how will this work with a 4in drop? also where should i measure from to line this thing back up. i"ve searched and read alot about the panhard on here but cannt find the answer i need . It's a 64 short stepside with cpp springs and lowered shocks. thanks alot
THIS is what you need. Can be ordered HERE, halfway down the page... http://www.gmcpauls.com/Suspension.htm
I believe it will. The difference between the 64 and 65-66 was where the upper mount was located on the left frame rail. If you can, verify first before purchase. Also, try calling our host here at Classic Parts America to see if they stock one. I looked, but didn't "see" one in their online catalog. dv
Ok thanks , do you know anything about setting it up? like where you take the measurements from to get it straight. just looked at that link you gave me and i found one for a 64 .thanks alot had never seen that site.
Just get it centered ( left to right ) and measure from the fender lip to the tire. Have the rear on jack stands under the axles to place the weight on the rear. Pretty simple... One installation note: This should not apply to a 4 inch drop but for what it's worth. The track bar should run downhill from the frame rail to the rear end mount, never uphill !! If you have a deeper drop of 5 inches using lowering springs, you will need a longer track bar that mounts to the right trailing arm and a kit to relocate the shocks.. I got a 5 inch drop in the rear using 4 inch springs and 1 inch lowering blocks.. dv
one came with my lowering kit from early classics and wasnt long enough due to the axle set up im using, i sent it back to early classics and they built a custom one at the length i needed, great price and great company, very helpful. And the part worked perfect when i got it on.
