I have an '83 K10 350 w/700r4 I have already upgraded the front axle to 3/4 ton parts and changed out the back to a 14 bolt full floating axle both have 4.10 gears. I have just bought a '79 3/4 ton C10 for parts. It has a 454 w/th400 tranny and I have also purchased a conversion kit from advanced adapters for trans to the T case. I'm looking for any opinions or answers that I can get. To help I have a slide-on camper that fully loaded weighs about 3500# and thinking of buying a fishing boat to pull behind w/camper and this truck will not be a daily driver, mileage is not my biggest concern, but I do like the mileage I get now. (about 9mpg with camper in 3rd gear, no camper 4th gear 13/14 mpg) will the stock motor mounts work with the 454? I am also going to rebuild the 454 any suggestions on max power. stock heads ok worth price of afermarket heads? cam and carb combos? I've never owned or messed with a big block before.
