Have a 79 GMC (originally a diesel) that a friend swaped the column in. Now he's not sure which wires plug into the column down by the firewall. He has two connectors, one flat and one stacked I believe. The column is from a few years later of a truck (still column shift auto). Any help would be appreciated...even what color wires plug in at the base of the column (by the firewall) would help...

    Thanks!

73-83 column should be the same option as yours, to be plug and play.
If it was from a gas truck you will have use your Neutral Start Switch I
believe the diesel neutral switch is different, or if your does not work need a new one. what option do you have on your column, might help us help you better. Did you change the wiring on the new column you pick up to your old wiring or are your trying to hook up the new one. If so what year and option are on the new one.
