These are some Pix of a long time friends (30 years now) shop in Modesto Ca. In 1947 Twin brothers Willi and Willard Neville built Neville Bros. Service on Needham Ave. which is known as a historical land mark in Modesto. Willard died in the 60's and Willi continued to run the shop along with his son (my friend) Larry until he retired about 10 years ago. Willi died about 2 months later, he was in his 80's Some of the Pix show Willi and willard in 1947 at their grand opening and the pix with all the classic cars in front is Neville Bros. today. The dirty two tone brown "47" with the built 261 was the original shop truck that Larry restored in 1974, it was known as Brown Sugar and had made a few of the magazines. If you look in the Pix with all the classics in front of the shop, behind the classics you will see the "56" GMC which was another shop truck and the green "73" in another Pix was another shop truck. These trucks have all been owned by Neville Bros. since they were new. The other cars in some of the other Pix are either owned by Larry Neville or customers that only trust Neville Bros. to work on them. In 1974 Larry And a few other guys started a club called the Modesto Area Truckers which I was apart of from 1980 until the club ended in the early 90's. Most of us still get together today along with a few others and go down to the shop on Saturdays, eat doughnuts and tell stories about the past....Good times....Big Tim
When i get my truck done i'll have to drive up for a saturday morning doughnut.Great pictures love the good old days Bobby
