I needed to relocate the battery, as a result of putting the 53 on an s-10 frame. the frame got in the way of the stock location, so I decided to move the battery under the bed on the passenger side. What do you think??

    Remote Battery Tray

Looks pretty good ! . remember to use # 1 gauge cables and NO clamp on ends!

Back in the day , the undercab battery tray would rust out and we'd get an old galvanized & insulated steel milk delivery box , punch two holes for the battery cables & bolt it to the running board , this was a very common thing to do in The East as the box kept the battery's from freezing & splitting if they went dead .

Cheap too , always a good thing on the Farm .

    Some days are just good!

Yeah, Cheap for everyone but the dairy!!:eek:I hope it wasn't the same neighbor who donated every time.
I think that's the best use of wasted space I've seen, always happy to see new idea's.:D

Herman, I just realized you are only over the hill from me. In fact yesterday I took SWMBO, for a pretty mountain drive to Burnsville as the leaves are at peak.

She was impressed with my romantic mood:rolleyes: until I pulled up at a Junque yard specializing in Full Sized Jeeps. She wouldn't even help pull two bucket seats, hardly spoke on the way home.:( Well, with the quiet, peace and the beautiful colors, I thought it was swell.:p

Two seats and two bases with working motors...$50....what a perfect day!:D Until later, No Luck that PM!

    Milk Boxes

You guys ! no need to rob the milk box off the neighbor's porch , they're scatted all over the East Coast in trash piles , junkyards , thrift stores and so on , no one uses them since the late 1960's.......

I even see them in Cali. from time to time .

I didn't say not to use battery cable clamps , I meant to never , EVER use those stupid clamp on ' repair ' end things as they always cause problems .

Side mount batteries should always be avoided , they were junk when GM invented them and remain so 40 years later .
