Hi, I am new to all this, so not too sure where to start. First of all Hi from all here in London England. I have a 1952 Chevy Truck, and need some advice tracing a lower patch panel for the right side front fender. Existing one has some rust coming through and I dragged the front on a 'Speed Bump' here in London and tore the rear part of the front fender off. Are there patch panels available for front fenders for a 1952 Truck? Thanks, Ash Troop
That's a low Truck ! Yes , there are patch panels but wait untill you've hear from one of the guys as some really suck . I'd think an MG panel beater would be able to fix you up easily.... Make one out of sheet metal , no ? . WELCOME to our little group ! there's quite a few Brits on here now .
Good to hear from another Brit. There are a few of us around, you’re sure to notice Brit 50 on these posts - a good source of all things on AD trucks. I’ve not had to do any body work on my ’55 so I’ve not sourced any patch panels, but what ever you do check out the quality as best you can using the advice here. I’ve only once had a problem with getting parts from the US, and that was the post office this end. If that’s the truck in your avatar it’s no wonder you hit the speed bump…
Hi Ash not seen any patch panels for the front wings but theres some second hand parts on Ebay they are up your way. Theres some one advertising parts in Classic American on 01282869553 not shure what they have got though http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Truck-Pick..._W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ7776177QQftidZ2QQtZkm \\\\regards Gerald
Holy Crap, chaps! 350 pounds sterling for a used fender? That's over $720 US, right? Dang, I'm in the wrong business!!!
Welcome to our world taxed to death and ripped of , a rough rusty truck over will cost £2000 up thats $4000. A straightish one that drives in a soso condition will cost $6000 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1949-Chevrole...ryZ18301QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Think what $9000 would buy you state side
Slick Truck! Slick looking truck, Ash! (And the right color for me, I might add) I love the avatar! Can't wait to see more pictures! please...
How much of a fender do you need? I have a 53 that a new land owner gave to me after pushing it around several times with a tractor with a bucket on the front. It is pretty well beat up but had good corner windows and perfect factory stainless windshield and side window trim so it was worth the gas money to go get it. I know the fenders are dented but not rusty (Texas truck) and will look at the bottom of the right front if you don't locate something better. Will cost you shipping and any hoops the import/tax people make you jump through.
