Hi new here, and got my hands on a 52 3100 a few months ago. I live in the Charlotte, NC area and retired a few months ago. Have always been into working on old cars and trucks. Got rid of a 65 F**d truck about 2 years ago and vowed to never work on another project. Well now retired and needed something to mess with so got the 52. It will always be a year younger than me. Going to keep the 55 235 and three speed in it but upgrade brakes, wireing, wipers and put some seatbelts in it. Have ordered and got a new wireing harness from host (how I found site). Will be keeping 6 lug since it came with some nice looking wheels so ordered disk brake kit for six lug. Look forward to picking your brains as I move along with the project.
Welcome, Doug! Looks like a beautiful ride! I also like the direction you are going~ all about safety! I'm sure there is someone other than me who would like to see more pictures of your truck.
Nice truck Doug Looks like someone put a 54 or 55 bed on your truck. Flat top rails. Is that an old Chevy in your neighbors driveway? JW
Welcome to the forum. Nice truck! Russ, aka Ol' Chebby lives in your hood! He could definitely help you get on the right track as far as improvements to your brakes. Ken
Thanks guys. Yea JW 54, note tail lights and brackets are not right for a 52. Neighbor has a 56 Ford in garage and thats a 50 ford in driveway he just found in a field. ol' chebby will sure do that one day soon.
Welcome doug ! You'll find that old ' Stove Bolt ' 235 is a very good engine indeed ~ it just doesn't like extended operation @ above 3,200 RPM's . Put some nice TALL Radial LT tires on those spiffy wheels and it'll zip right down the Highway safely . Good on ya for adding seat belts as SAFETY KNOWS NO SEASON ! . The good people here know everything about your truck and where to get parts too so don't be shy about asking for help .
