    Hi,

I have a '57 1/2 ton that I got from down south in March. It has a 235 and 3 on the tree. I'm looking for a dip stick and a flywheel underpan. I ordered an underpan from Ebay, but it was too small and had to return it. If anyone has suggestions where I can get these I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,

There is a place in Orange, CA that has helped me out with a few parts that were hard to find. Here is their web address: www.truckandcarshop.com

luckily zillions of repro parts are available for these trucks, and are many reputable dealers.Be selective on whether you use salvaged parts to recondition. Sometimes they may seem like a good deal, but when you include your time and materials to fix up something,it may cost you more than a new part. Some parts are not reproduced, and you will have to use salvage. You will also find that many items are sold as new old stock and restored on e-bay,but be prepared for the prices as there are many across the country that don't mind bidding up the prices for rare items.I still think that the original parts are of higher quality than reproduction,no matter how good the repros are,but after sitting for 50 years, some soft parts start to decompose.

    Found my parts

I found a website where I could post what I was looking for. In a few days, 3 or 4 places had contacted me. I went with A.M. Kerr in Virgina. Parts were used, but in great shape and he must have hot tanked them as they were very clean. Shiping & packaging was great.

He said he was partting out 50 1948-1966 Chevy pick-ups. so...here's your chance.

    his e-mail is Fishandhunt247@aol.com
